Honourable Mention paper DIS2024: “Articulating Felt Senses for More-Than-Human Design: A Viewpoint for Noticing”

I am thrilled to announce that our paper “Articulating Felt Senses for More-Than-Human Design: A Viewpoint for Noticing” co-authored with Anton Poikolainen Rosén, has been awarded an Honorable Mention at DIS2024! Our paper was recognised as part of the top 5% in an already very competitive conference.

In our paper, we introduce felt sense as a viewpoint for rigorously noticing the more-than-human world, providing considerations for design research and practice. In line with Gendlin and Abrams, we advocate for the attentive articulation of our relationality through language as an embodied practice in its own right. We do this in a context where language tends to be overlooked by contemporary discourses in HCI, usually deemed binarily as either “unreliable” or “too rational”.
